DEVELOPING INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF EUROPEAN TEACHERS OF ENGLISH is an Erasmus Intensive Programme,
held in Toruń, Poland, June 1 – June 14, 2014.
The participants have included students and staff of
- University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu;
- Catholic University of the West, Angers, France;
- Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland;
- Vigo University, Spain.
This site illustrates the work of 42 student-participants and 16 staff of four countries, spanning 17 months of conceptual and financial planning, (video) conferencing, session writing, and material preparation (including audio-visual materials and IT tools), concluded with a two week event, with sessions, lectures, workshops, field trips and school visits, lesson planning and micro-teaching, and social events.
Its purpose is to disseminate the results (and encourage replication) and it is addressed to university-based language teacher-trainers and other educators who see the need for intercultural preparation of the future language teachers and who subscribe to the philosophy described in the project summary and project aims tabs.
